Someone asked me if fluoride is safe to drink in water. In this video, I explain my answer.

First, I wonder why anyone would think it’s a good idea to put an element like fluoride, which is very reactive to the thyroid, in the water supply. Not only that, but fluoride is toxic to the brain. Well, of course the answer is that fluoride prevents tooth decay.

But a side effect of consuming too much fluoride is tooth demineralization! This creates a condition called dental fluorosis. This is a huge red flag.

Of course, if you do research, you’ll find claims that fluoride is safe and doesn’t cause harm. But that’s untrue. You can click the link below and start reading some of the studies I cite. There have been over 180 studies published since 2006 on the toxic effect of fluoride on the brain and nervous system. It’s neurotoxic. Not to mention it lowers your IQ and affects your thyroid.

If you research the causes of tooth decay, of course the first results that come up in Google are all sponsored by toothpaste companies. They state that tooth decay is caused by acid. Of course, this is because plaque bacteria breaks down the sugar in your food, causing minerals to be leached out of the bone. You should always brush your teeth after you eat, to keep your teeth free of sugar.

But what happens when the sugar goes into your bloodstream? Is there a problem in your body when your sugar levels are high? Yes. Take a look at someone who is diabetic. They have problems with the lack of minerals in their bones and muscles. They have a high level of infection, because when your sugar is high you paralyze your white blood cells and increase the microbes that make dental plaque. As well, you decrease your ability to absorb minerals, and block the absorption of vitamin C because your body will prioritize sugar over vitamin C. If this gets bad enough, you could develop scurvy with its bleeding gums. You could experience loose teeth and gingivitis.

Instead of trying to prevent tooth decay with fluoride, just change your diet. Get a really good water filter to remove fluoride.

Now you know why I believe you can prevent tooth decay by diet; my answer to the question is fluoride safe?
