In this part 2 of 3 series video, Dr. Berg talks further about magnesium and calcium. Magnesium is involved in relaxation whereas calcium is involved with contraction, cellular signaling and cellular reproduction and goes beyond just making bone.
When you have low magnesium, you are going to have high in calcium and when you have high in calcium, you are going to have magnesium deficiency. But when you are low in magnesium, you will have low in potassium because they work together, and low potassium causes low magnesium. Insulin resistance causes low in magnesium, high in calcium and low in potassium.
You have 10,000x concentrated calcium outside the cell than inside the cell. In order for the calcium to get transported, you must have what is called voltage-gated calcium channel, it is an opening of the cell that allows the calcium to go in and out. Calcium is also needed to produce insulin in the pancreas. Too much calcium inside the cell could develop a condition called intracellular hypercalcinosis.

Other issues from too much calcium inside the cell:
• High blood pressure
• Anxiety / bipolar
• Migraines
• Myofascial trigger points
• Inflammation
• Diabetes
• Neurodegeneration
• Degenerative Joint Disease
