Fish DHA is good for your brain and eyes. Not all fish have high levels of DHA, which is an omega 3 fatty acid and is a primary structural component of the brain and retina.

In your brain, DHA makes up the synapses, which are the connections between nerve cells.

If you’re low in DHA, it can affect many things, but especially lowering your cognitive function and your mood (depression). Your memory, focus, and concentration are impaired.

Any time you see DHA you also see EPA, another fatty acid that works more for the function of the brain and retina.

These foods have the most DHA:

● Caviar
● Atlantic mackerel
● Anchovies
● Atlantic salmon
● Herring
● Chinook salmon
● Bluefin tuna
● Beef brain
● Microalgae (for vegans)
You’ll also get zinc and iodine which are necessary cofactors. DHA is needed to make something called rhodopsin, a light-sensitive protein in the eye that’s mainly involved with low-level light. It can help you see better in the dark. Vitamin A will help too.

Fish DHA is highly beneficial for your brain and eyes.
