Today we're going to talk about detox and die-off. Another name for this is the Herxheimer reaction.

What is detox and die-off (Herxheimer reaction)?

With this, you're likely using a medical antibiotic, a natural herbal antibiotic, a probiotic, or some type remedy that's killing microbes. There are certain things that are being broken down and released, and your immune system is reacting to this.

Symptoms of die-off:

• Flu-like symptoms
• Achy—inflammation
• Fatigue
• Sore throat
• Rash
• Lung mucus
• Coughing
• Swollen glands
• Headaches
• Fever

Your own immune system is creating these symptoms, not the microbe. It's creating an inflammatory state. When it comes to detox programs, it's best to start small and see how your body reacts.

If you started a detox program (this doesn't apply to antibiotics) and you have a reaction, this is what you may want to do:

1. Cut back or stop
2. Go really slow
3. Take activated charcoal
4. Take molybdenum
5. Take NAC

What herbal remedies are good for detoxification?
• Herbal remedies that kill off microbes (for example oregano oil, garlic, thyme, black walnut hull, clove)
