In this video, we’re going to talk about six powerful ways you can trigger more ketones. If you’re on a ketogenic diet and you want to boost your ketosis, these are ways you can boost your ketones.

1. Fasting - the longer you fast, the more ketones you will produce. Intermittent fasting and prolonged fasting can help boost your ketones significantly.

2. Low carbs - lowering your carbs also lowers your insulin, which helps your body produce more ketones.

3. Prolonged intense exercise - when you burn up your stored sugar, you start to run more on ketones.

4. Alcoholism - damage to your liver will cause you to produce more ketones.

5. Uncontrolled type 1 diabetes - type 1 diabetes stops your body from producing insulin, which helps you produce more ketones.

6. MCT - medium-chain triglycerides can help speed up your ketone production.

Obviously, #4 and #5 are not the ways you should get your ketones. Avoid alcohol at all costs and make sure you talk with your doctor about controlling your type 1 diabetes.

Instead of doing #3 (prolonged intense exercise), do high-intensity interval training (HIIT). This is far more sustainable and healthy in the long-run. Avoid prolonged intense exercise if you have serious health issues.
