In a historic move for a sitting U.S. president, Joe Biden stood in solidarity with striking auto workers on the picket line in Michigan on Tuesday.

This significant event occurred just a day before his rival, Donald Trump, attempts to garner support from the blue-collar demographic in the pivotal battleground state.

Sporting a baseball cap adorned with the United Auto Workers (UAW) union logo, the 80-year-old Democrat addressed the waving banners and placards of the workers through a megaphone, expressing his unequivocal support for their cause.

On Wednesday, Republican Trump is scheduled to visit Michigan, setting the stage for an early, contentious clash between the two leading candidates in an election that is still over a year away, the AFP reported.
