Banned ingredients we still consume:
1. Dough conditioners 
Dough conditioners are chemicals that give dough a certain texture. We’re specifically talking about potassium bromate, which is a possible human carcinogen. 
Potassium bromate is banned in:
• India 
• Brazil 
• Canada 
• The EU
• China 

2. Brominate vegetable oil 
This was patented as a flame retardant. But it’s being used in sports drinks as an emulsifier. It is a possible human carcinogen and has been linked to organ failure. 
Brominate vegetable oil is banned in:
• Japan

3. Propylparaben 
This is a preservative in tortillas, muffins, and certain pies. It has been linked to problems with sexual organs. 
Propylparaben is banned in:
• Europe 

4. BHA and BHT
This is one of the preservatives used in certain cereals and dehydrated potato products.
BHA and BHT are banned in:
• The UK 
• The EU 

5. Glyphosate 
This is an herbicide that has been linked to cancer. 
Glyphosate is banned in:
• Many European countries
