There have been A LOT of different Marriott credit cards over the years (at least 13 if you include the SPG and Ritz-Carlton versions)! This is due to Marriott acquiring Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.

Here’s the timeline of the Marriott SPG merger…
- November 16, 2015: Marriott announced its plan to acquire Starwood Hotels
- April 08, 2016: Marriott & Starwood stockholders approved the merger
- September 23, 2016: The merger closed w/ the FTC prior to market opening

As you look at the Eligibility Chart in the video, here are the 5 keys from the legend:

- YES: You are eligible to get the card with a bonus.

- 30 DAYS: You cannot have or have had this card in the last 30 days. In other words, you cannot have this card open AND you must wait 30 days after you cancel or product change.

- 24 MONTHS: You cannot have this card open AND you must wait 24 months since you last received a bonus.

- 90 DAYS / 24 MONTHS: You must wait 90 days since getting this card AND allow 24 months to pass since you received a welcome bonus or upgrade bonus.

- RED X: You are not eligible for a welcome bonus if you’ve previously had this card
