A FEW THINGS TO KNOW FIRST…
1. You must book your hotel through the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal
2. A maximum of $50 can be used & no minimum spend amount is required
3. Activation is not required; it’s already active!
4. You can use the credit across multiple stays in case one booking did not use the full amount
5. A statement credit should show up approximately 2 days after the transaction posts to your account
6. The credit is based on cardmember anniversary year (i.e. the date when you opened the account)

HOW TO USE THE CHASE SAPPHIRE PREFERRED $50 ANNUAL HOTEL CREDIT
1. Log into your Chase account
2. Click on your points balance / 'redeem' link like you’re going to redeem your points
3. Click on your Chase Sapphire Preferred card
4. This will take you to the Ultimate Rewards portal
5. Go to the Main Menu
6. Select Travel
7. Search for a hotel
8. Go through the checkout process & charge the stay to your Sapphire Preferred credit card

POINTS TO CONSIDER…
- Many large hotel chains that have a loyalty program (Marriott Bonvoy, Hilton Honors, World of Hyatt, IHG Rewards, etc.) may not issue hotel points or elite night credits, or recognize your elite benefits for your stay when booking via 3rd-party portals – including Chase’s. If you value those things, it’s recommended to book directly with the hotel websites for those stays.

- Since the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal is considered a 3rd-party portal, consider booking non-chain / boutique hotels that don’t participate in a loyalty program. Also consider booking large-program hotels via the portal if you don’t care about rewards or status in a specific program.

- Also weigh your options. If the $50 statement credit would give you more value than the number of hotel points and/or benefits you’d receive, it could be a good tradeoff using the portal, too.
