In this video, we’re going to talk about cinnamon–specifically Ceylon cinnamon! One teaspoon a day can have some promising benefits to your health. Cinnamon is the oldest spice and the most consumed spice in the world.
The active component in cinnamon is called cinnamaldehyde. It has potent anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, anticancer, and antidiabetic properties.
Here are 9 antidiabetic effects of cinnamon:
1. Increased insulin sensitivity
2. Increased glucose sensitivity
3. Decreased risk of NAFLD (non-alcoholic fatty liver disease)
4. Protects the kidneys
5. Restores peripheral neuropathy
6. Prevents endothelial dysfunction
