The Monster of Piedras Blancas (1959) | Science Fiction, Horror

In the sleepy lighthouse town of Piedras Blancas, California, Sturges (Harmon), the lighthouse keeper, is very superstitious and concerned about the safety of his teenage daughter, Lucy (Carmen). He leaves food for a sea monster that lives in a nearby cave. The natives disregard him at first, but begin to notice when the bodies of the people killed by the monster are found on the beach. A local scientist identifies a scale found near one of the bodies as belonging to a "diplovertebron", a prehistoric amphibious reptile long thought to be extinct. (https://en.wikipedia.org/)
