It’s been a busy 12 months (much more so than I thought)! Here are the 12 credit cards I got approved for this year…
In January, I didn’t apply for any credit cards.
In February, I got the Hilton Honors Business Card from American Express. It had a welcome offer of 130,000 Hilton points and a free night certificate, and I also met the $15K spend requirement to earn a 2nd free night!
In March, I added the Chase Ink Business Preferred card (100K Chase Ultimate Rewards points for the welcome offer) and the Amex Business Gold Card (90K Amex Membership Rewards points).
In April, I went for the Chase Sapphire Preferred 80K bonus. Although I had this credit card before, I made sure I was under the Chase 5/24 Rule as well as the Chase 48 Month Rule, so it worked out perfectly.
In May, I didn’t apply for any credit cards.
In June, I applied for the AAdvantage Aviator World Elite Business Mastercard with an 80K mile bonus. The signup bonus spend requirement was quite easy to meet at just $2K in the first 90 days.
In July, I added 2 hotel credit cards: the IHG Rewards Premier Card and the IHG Rewards Premier Business Card. Each one had a signup bonus of 140K points, and the personal version also came with a free night certificate worth up to an additional 40K points. I like that each of these credit cards provide an annual free night certificate, too, making each one a keeper card for the foreseeable future.
In August, I saw the Citi Premier Card had a limited-time offer to earn 80K points, so I got it as that was worth $800 cash back or $800+ towards travel redemptions.
In September, I didn’t apply for any credit cards.
In October, I submitted an application for the Amex Blue Cash Everyday card. It’s 3% cash back category on U.S. Online Retail Purchases (up to $6K/yr.) is really fantastic.
In November, I added the Capital One SavorOne card as it has a TON of 3% cash back categories, PLUS some higher categories (5%+) in really useful, everyday areas. Like the Citi Premier Card, it’s a fantastic ‘do-it-all’ credit card that can take the place of having multiple credit cards.
In December, I ended the year with the Bank of American Premium Rewards credit card and my 2nd Amex Blue Business Plus card (this time applying with my EIN as an LLC).
