Weedsnacks proudly supports the incredible work of local town homies, Friends of the Orphan Signs! 🎉 Friends of the Orphan Signs collaborates with local artists and poets to breathe new life into old signs with fresh artworks. This spring, they unveiled pieces by Ameerah Bad'r and Pico del Hierro-Villa as part of The Revision Project! These signs are about to undergo round two of transformations and will soon showcase new images. The Revision Happening is set to celebrate the culmination of these artworks on Central Ave and Lomas Blvd on September 22nd!

The Revision Happening Schedule:

🎤 7:15 - 8:00 pm at the Lomas Sign (1000 Lomas NE): Get inspired by Pico del Hierro-Villa's insights, followed by a dazzling drag performance by Karmelita Karbdashian. Supported by the UNM LGBTQ Resource Center.

"Friends of the Orphan Signs is a collaborative public art organization of artist-educators that creatively revitalizes abandoned or unused road signs with artwork, with a particular focus along historic Route 66 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. FOS facilitates innovative collaborations and educational workshops with local communities with the aim of designing new imagery to install in the signs as public art pieces. We work to revitalize the visual landscape of disinvested neighborhoods while centering the voices of its residents. Our signs are public, accessible on foot and by car, and can be found on major thoroughfares throughout Albuquerque."
