Hollywood writers' strike deal 'life saving' - commentator

Hollywood's writers union said on Sunday (September 24) it had reached a preliminary labor agreement with major studios, a deal expected to end one of two strikes that have halted most film and television production and cost the California economy billions. Film critic and programmer Kaleem Aftab told Reuters the mood as soon as the tentative deal was announced was one of ecstasy.
