Mikel Arteta praises 'extraordinary' Declan Rice ahead of north London derby

Mikel Arteta has heaped praise on summer-signing Declan Rice ahead of Sunday's north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium.

The England midfielder joined from West Ham for a club-record fee of £105m, and the Arsenal manager has been impressed with how he's settled.

"In a really natural way he's doing what he's done in the last few seasons. And for us in an extraordinary way," said Arteta.

Asked if Rice had exceeded his expectations, Arteta replied: "In terms of how quickly he has adapted, probably, yes. Yeah. You all hope and especially when you pay big money that it's going to happen and it happens soon because it's going to help everybody. Really pleased with it."
