In an alarming incident on April 10, 2022, bodycam footage captured the disturbing behavior of an Illinois woman who, following a fatal DUI crash, displayed a shocking lack of remorse.

Stephanie Melgoza, who had tragically claimed the lives of two individuals, was recorded laughing and feigning ignorance during her encounter with the East Peoria officers. Despite failing every sobriety test administered by the officers and registering three times over the legal alcohol limit, Melgoza seemed unconcerned. Her statement, "This doesn't happen. I go to Bradley," referring to the prestigious university from which she was about to graduate, added a chilling layer to the situation.

Even in the hospital, upon learning of the two victims' deaths, Melgoza continued to make light of the situation, prompting one officer to exclaim, "You're pathetic." In the end, Melgoza admitted guilt to two counts of aggravated DUI death and two counts of aggravated reckless driving. She was subsequently sentenced to 14 years in prison.
