Around Town 8/18/17: Michigan Jamboree of T's

A celebration of arguably the first affordable automobile is happening in the Greater Lansing area this weekend. The 2017 Michigan Jamboree of T's will be happening all weekend. The public is welcome to check out the Holiday Inn Express, and Comfort Inn of Okemos to view and take pictures of nearly a hundred antique Ford Model T cars. On Saturday starting at 9 A.M. the public is welcome to attend Mason Aviation Day at the Jewett Airfield. Guests will also be able to check out some vintage airplanes, as well as enjoy some lunch. Plane rides will be available for a fee. In the day ahead it will be a sea of red. The Lansing Lugnuts are hosting a "Red Out" to raise money and awareness for heart disease. Fans are encouraged to wear red and make a donation to Lansing Heart Walk Friday night. First pitch at Cooley Law School Stadium is set for 7 P.M. Tickets can be bought at the window out side of the stadium. Also the 57th annual Howell Melon Festival begins today and includes live music, food, kids games, and a melon roll. The festival is free and open to the public. The event starts at 10 A.M. this morning in Howell and run through Sunday.
