And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)
“Don’t bother to give God instructions; just report for duty.”—Corrie Ten Boom
When Arioch, the commander of the king’s guard, had gone out to put to death the wise men of Babylon, Daniel spoke to him with wisdom and tact. (Daniel 2:14)
The king asked Daniel, “Are you able to tell me what I saw in my dream and interpret it?” Daniel replied, ‘No…”. (Daniel 2:26-27)
“…but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries.” (Daniel 2:28)
“This was the dream, and now we will interpret it to the king.” (Daniel 2:36)
In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever. (Daniel 2:44)
The king said to Daniel, “Surely your God is the God of gods and the Lord of kings and a revealer of mysteries, for you were able to reveal this mystery.” (Daniel 2:47)
3 THINGS WE LEARN FROM DANIEL
1: Daniel Spoke Up
“…Daniel spoke to him with wisdom and tact.” (Daniel 2:14)
He had control of his emotions; his emotions didn’t have control over him.
2: Daniel Knelt Down
Then Daniel returned to his house and explained the matter to his friends... He urged them to plead for mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery... During the night, the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven. (Daniel 2:17-19)
Prayed, got some rest, and praised.
“You may not know what the future holds, but you know who holds the future.”
—Tim Tebow

3: Daniel Stepped Back
The king asked Daniel, “Are you able to tell me what I saw in my dream and interpret it?” Daniel replied, “No…but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries.”   (Daniel 2:26-28)
“He must become greater; I must become less.” (John 3:30)
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden… In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14;16)
