The Megalithic Builders Of Palenque: A Time Before The Maya

The Maya site of Palenque is found in the jungles of the Mexican state of Chiapas. Known as one of the greatest and most extensive cities of the ancient Maya, it served as a regional center for over a thousand years in pre-historic times.

However, there are various tell-tale signs at the ancient site that may suggest a far more ancient culture once thrived here, one that had the ability to cut and move enormous blocks of limestone. These construction methods go far beyond the capabilities of the Maya and have led me to conclude that civilization existed in the region before the Mesoamerican peoples.

Legends sourced from the sacred books of the Tzeltal Maya speak of a foreign race who came to the area long before the classic Maya. They referred to these people as the Snakes. Could these have been the ancient builders of Palenque? Join me in this video to find out!
