Naval helicopter pilots practice interaction with fleet forces in the Barents Sea

▫️ As part of search and rescue missions in areas close to the Northern Sea Route, the crews of Ka-27PS helicopters carried out a training exercise on the conditional transfer of medical cargo to submarine sailors. Having approached the nuclear submarine, the helicopter hovered over it, after which one of the crew members of the rescue helicopter was lowered on board and transferred medical supplies.

▫️ The crews of the Northern Fleet's Ka-27 anti-submarine helicopters performed flights in difficult weather conditions over the waters of the Barents Sea. In cooperation with small anti-submarine ship Brest helicopter pilots practiced the tasks of searching and tracking the submarine of the mock enemy.

The exercise with the expeditionary grouping of Northern Fleet forces and troops aimed to organise the defence of island territories and the Arctic coast of the Russian Federation started on 18 September. Up to 1,800 servicemen, about 80 units of combat and special equipment, up to 10 aircraft, as well as up to 15 ships, submarines and support vessels were involved in the exercise.
