Operation
Set universal mounting pins at the height for a Trangia burner (1” pot gap)
Mount gas burner across the pins. Will snap into place
Feed cartridge valve through feed port
Attach to gas canister
Light flame and open canister slowly
Using the Flame Adjuster – Use a pair of pliers to pinch the flame adjuster tabs. Adjust to cover no more than 50% of the holes. Light the burner as before. Let cool before adjusting.
Boil times
Gen 2 5” Firebox – 2 cups water – 15cm SS kettle
Full-open 5:33 – 14g fuel
Half-open 4:00 – 8g fuel
Did the same test using the Bulin Trangia gas burner clone. Ran it at about 2/3rd open. Boil time of 2:53 with 11 grams of fuel consumed
Same test with the FB burner set one pin-hole lower
Full-open stopped test as not all jets were firing
Half-open 4:12 – 11g fuel
