With the first day of classes just around the corner, local libraries are hosting events to help get kids back into the swing of things. The Capital Area District Library, Haslett Branch, will be hosting its summer STEAM series event Tuesday, August 15. Ages 7 to 17 are invited to come out at 11 a.m.to build with cups and straws to see how types of materials make a difference in infrastructure. At the Grand Ledge Area District Library, it's Paws for Reading. Preschool to high school ages can spend time reading to a certified therapy dog starting at 6 p.m. Tuesday night. If you have an event to share, send us an email at aroundtown@fox47news.com.
