In a time of famine, Abram and his beautiful wife Sarai sought refuge in Egypt. Fearing for his life, Abram asked Sarai to pretend to be his sister. Sarai's beauty caught the Pharaoh's eye, and she was taken to his house, with Abram receiving gifts in return.

However, God unleashed plagues on Pharaoh's household because of this deceit. Realizing the truth, a dismayed Pharaoh returned Sarai to Abram, asking them to leave Egypt with the gifts they had acquired. Thus, guided by faith and divine intervention, the couple left Egypt, their bond stronger and blessed with more resources for their journey.
