The term bandwagon argument or the phrase "jumping on the wagon" is often used to refer to a cluster of related social fallacies. The fallacies arise when one fails to do one's own thinking but instead takes as one's primary reason for acting in a certain manner the mere fact that others are so acting, or telling one to act. Here, the fallacy is not in deciding to do what others are doing, instead, it is in the lack of any independent, rational thinking.
