1966 Page joined the Yardbirds, one of the era's most famous British rock bands. He played lead guitar alongside Jeff Beck, and the two guitarists formed a formidable partnership. The Yardbirds had several hits with Page in the band, including "Heart Full of Soul" and "Over Under Sideways Down."

1968, Page left the Yardbirds to form his band, Led Zeppelin. Led Zeppelin quickly became one of the world's biggest and most successful rock bands. Page was the band's primary songwriter and musical director, and his guitar playing was crucial to Led Zeppelin's sound. Led Zeppelin released eight studio albums during their career, all of which were commercial and critical successes.
