Finval-2023: MiG-31 fighter planes practice interception of a mock enemy cruise missile

In the waters of the Chukotka and Bering seas, as well as on the Chukotka Peninsula, the tactical exercise of the forces (troops) of the Pacific Fleet “Finval-2023” to protect the communications of the Northern Sea Route continues. The exercise is conducted under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov.
One of the important episodes of the exercise was the development of air defense actions on the Chukotka Peninsula from air attack weapons of a mock enemy. To intercept cruise target missiles, two MiG-31 fighters on duty were scrambled from the Anadyr airfield. Their crews destroyed air targets using air-to-air missiles.
