Oak Hill Church of Christ 9-17-23 Message: "God Wastes No Pain"

Oak Hill Church of Christ preaching minister, Randy Sterling, delivers a message on the value of being reminded that God and His purposes will always work for Good.

Many crises of faith begin with a thought along the lines of "why would God allow...when I'm a good person?"

We base our faith in some ways on the premise that our obedience to God works like a kind of insurance policy against calamity. So long as we're decent folk, God will shield us from trouble and keep misfortune at bay.

God suggests to the believer that there might be another way to look at the situation. Instead of treating God like an insurance policy against difficult times, we should look at the difficult times as an opportunity to remain steadfast in our trust of God, knowing that out of difficult times, God will bring better things.

God presents the story of His only Son, Jesus, as a testament to this truth. All the wicked forces of Hell and this world visited all the cruelty they could on Jesus, and the result was the transcendent promise of eternal life and victory over death and evil.

Choose to view the circumstances of your life as Jesus did, living through the rough times to God's glory, so that the good He intends will be revealed through your life; because you never know what He has in store.
