When Hollywood studios rushed to start up their own streaming services to compete with Netflix, they might have cooked their own goose. Now streaming costs are eating studios like Disney and Warner Bros Discovery alive and the strikes biggest sticking point is residuals from streaming content, something the actors and writers seem unwilling to bend. Meanwhile Amazon, Apple, and Netflix are growing stronger and have deeper pockets than Hollywood. Will Big Tech finish the studios off?
