Bronco Charging System Error | Replacing The Alternator in 2.7L

A bit of mud and sand in the alternator caused a Bronco Charging System Error, along with an assault of other errors in the Tatsquatch. Once the battery voltage gets below 10v all the onboard diagnostics start going crazy.

If this happens to you you can get ford to change the shield around the alternator under

TSB 22-2392 -- Mud Accumulation in Generator

However they will only do so if you are having issues.

You can preemptively install the shield yourself the updated part numbers are listed below.

2.3L shield p/n MB3Z-10317-K
2.7L shield p/n. MB3Z-10317-J
