Veliko Tarnovo was the centre of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom and the medieval capital of Bulgaria, which reached its peak of glory under the Asen dynasty during the 12th and 13th centuries.

The city is surrounded by three hills and lies on the banks of the Yantra River, which creates a beautiful gorge around it.

Veliko Tarnovo has many attractions for visitors, but in this video, we will focus on the major landmarks that you can visit in just a day: the Tsarevets Fortress, the Asenevtsi Monument, and the stunning viewpoints around town.
