Building a sustainable future for a nation is a difficult task. It requires a comprehensive and integrated approach. A holistic approach that addresses the political, security, social, economic, cultural, environmental, and other aspects of the nation’s wellbeing is vital. The challenge becomes enormous when it involves a nation that was forcefully incorporated into a multinational state that is dominated by one ethnic group for over a century who is determined to keep the balance of power as it instituted long ago regardless of the struggle of the dominated nation for its physical, political, and cultural survival against historical abuses and current encroachments. This conference aims to search the way forward for the sustainable peace, stability, and future of Oromia vis-à-vis a rapidly crumbling Ethiopian empire.
