JORA shoes - Small shoe industry contributing to import substitution

In the heart of Lugala Trading Centre, Rubaga Division in Kampala, a shoe manufacturing company known as JORA Shoes Limited has been steadily contributing to Uganda's Import Substitution strategy.
Founded in 2010 by a visionary named Yorum, the company has grown from humble beginnings, sourcing locally-produced leather to craft a diverse range of shoes for people of all ages and genders.
