Algorithmic animation.

One at a time, agents are added to the stage. Each of them sweeps across & down the stage one frame at a time, laying down a fixed pattern in a certain color. Some cover larger cells per frame, and so cover the stage more quickly than others. Gradually, more and more agents are added, all working at different scales and speeds, until near the end, when the image is changing quickly and chaotically. When a certain number of agents is present, the system stops adding them and lets them all finish their cycles, until four and a half minutes later, the program stops on a final still image.
