More schools starting before Labor Day in Michigan
7 years ago
The state has forced schools to wait until after Labor Day to start classes for the last 11 years, but districts have been allowed to request a waiver to start earlier. This year a record number of waivers have been approved. Eaton Rapids is one of them and it's going on it's third year of starting before the holiday. Other schools districts are starting to move their start dates as well, and part of the reason is to try and get kids out earlier in June. As Christopher Lane explains some parents like it, while others say it interferes with their vacation time.
