Muhammad bin Qasim (695-715 CE) was a young Umayyad military commander who played a significant role in the early Islamic expansion into the Indian subcontinent. He led the Arab forces during the Umayyad Caliphate's military campaign in Sindh (modern-day Pakistan) in the early 8th century. His conquest marked the initial Arab presence in South Asia and contributed to the spread of Islam in the region.
