To perform the movement:
1. The belt squat is a great exercise for those who want to reduce loading of the spine.
2. To set it up you need to make sure the belt is attached with the chain short enough to be able to squat to 90º or lower. This way the machine won't bottom out and you'll be able to squat with a full range of motion.
3. Once adjusted attach the hook to the machine and position your feet shoulder-width apart and hold onto the handles.
4. Then lift off the safety catch and hold onto the handles. Keeping the weight evenly distributed, begin your squat and lower under control allowing the hips to track backwards and once at 90º press upwards until at the starting position
