Sweet Mama Dog Feeds Abandoned Kitten

Animals are precious creatures that need to be treated with respect. There are some that you would not want to get anywhere near, but then there are some, like this little kitten here, that you just want to cuddle with and take home. It just breaks your heart when you see animals like this mistreated and abandoned. That seemed to be the case with this adorable kitten but luckily a good Samaritan stepped in and took care of it, with a little help from the neighborhood dog of course!

The person in this video goes onto say: "This morning I went downstairs to take the trash out as I do every day. When I opened the trash can, I saw a newborn kitten tied inside a bag, hopelessly 'mewing' for help due to some irresponsible being, who had abandoned it there for a tragic death. I took it out and the neighborhood dog that had just given birth kindly let it nurse it back to strength. Nature, fortunately, made it so that animals are kinder compared to man."

The video was made on July 25, 2017, and comes to us from Lamia, Greece.

However, the case of the neighborhood dog who adopted and nursed the abandoned kitten is not an isolated case. It seems that it is practice in nature for the mother of some species to take care of fragile members of other species as if they were their own cubs. But it is not always the mother who has recently given birth to her own litter and is still run by the motherly instinct to feed and protect. In some cases, the male of the species can also act as a parent. Take for example the French Bulldog Nono who has raised 17 kittens as if they were his own!

The kittens were too young to be placed in a shelter and wait there for their adoption, so Nono took the role of the caring father until they were big and strong enough to be taken in by human families. He might have had a bit of touch and go with the tiny mousers at the beginning, but after successfully managing six litters, he is now a pro.

As a good foster dad, he teaches the little rascals how to chew on stuff, like soft stuffed toys, and play peek-a-boo from inside an empty box, and like any caring mom cat would do, he is licking them when they have made a mess of themselves, even though hairballs do not go down well with dogs. Way to go Nono!

The moral of both stories is that you should think about adopting a foundling or a shelter kitty yourself because they also need homes and can give you and your family loads of love.
