EPIC Multnomah Falls | Must See Waterfalls In Oregon | Vancity Adventure

Just 30 minutes outside of Portland sits the hightest waterfall in Oregon that rivals any in the USA in beauty and memorableness. You may feel the strength and beauty of nature up close and easily by going to Multnomah Falls, a 611-foot-tall roaring, breathtaking cascade of freezing water. You may reach the exciting spray at the foot of the falls after a 5-minute walk from the parking lot off of I-84.

Native American legend holds that Multnomah Falls was built to win the love of a young princess who desired a secret location to take a bath. Although the upper part of the falls can be seen from the road, you must trek to the viewing spot, which is in a carved-out aperture in the rock face, to see both levels. You gain an incredible perspective of the falls' enormous size by tilting your head up amid the cramped, rocky confines of the steep cliffs.

Benson Bridge, which crosses the falls at the foggy foot of the first tier, is a few hundred feet further up the paved route where you may get an even better view. Standing on the bridge, you can see the top tier's whole 542-foot height and the 69-foot drop from the second tier with your knees shaking! Simon Benson, a well-known businessman from Portland who owned the falls in the early 1900s, is honoured by having his name associated with the bridge. Benson bequeathed Multnomah Falls to the City of Portland before he passed away, and the USDA Forest Service eventually acquired ownership.

Visit the Multnomah Falls Lodge, which was erected in 1925 to accommodate the hordes of visitors that came to see the Columbia Gorge's breathtaking scenery, to round off the excursion.
