Ingredients:
- 1 kg Peas
- 2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter)
- 2 medium-sized onions, finely chopped
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 medium-sized tomatoes, pureed
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt, to taste
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped for garnish

Instructions:
1. In a pan, add 1 liter of water and 1 kg of peas.
2. Add the finely chopped onions and pureed tomatoes to the pan.
3. Stir in the red chili powder and salt, then cook for another 30 minutes.
4. Mash the peas and vegetables.
5. For the Tarka, add cooking oil and 1 tablespoon of garlic to the peas dal.
6. Serve the Matar ki Daal in bowls, garnished with fresh cilantro leaves.

Enjoy this delicious and comforting dish with rice, roti, or any other Indian bread of your choice! Note that you can adjust the consistency of the dal by adding more or less water as desired.
