Not My Finest Modeling Moment

If we take an honest look at ourselves and examine the way we handle ourselves as adults, what do we see?

Is it safe to say that our responses and reactions to situations are similar to the way our care takers would have responded or reacted?

For me this is the case in many situations. And now that I have a child, I see the same thing happening with him.

So, it is my job to try and course correct. Not only do I have to change my reactions and responses, but I must also teach my child how to change his.

We often fall into the behaviors and habits that were modeled for us. And so, it is my job to model healing and growth for my son.

It is okay for our children to see us make mistakes. It is even more important that they see us correct these mistakes and to make the changes that are so vital to breaking the cycle.

This way it doesn't get passed on to their children and so on.

Stick with me while I discuss this and other interesting topics.
