The UK government is providing a range of economic, humanitarian, and defensive military assistance to Ukraine – often leading the way with supply of new capabilities and categories of munition, to encourage allies to scale up their commitments. Britain seems to be less intimidated by Russia’s so-called ‘red lines’, which time have proved to be illusory – just the bluff and bluster of a bully. Overall, the European Union has provided the most to Ukraine in terms of military, financial and humanitarian aid combined, but the UK is the second largest donor of military assistance to Ukrain

Yehor Brailian is a Special Correspondent with ArmyInform, based in Kyiv, Ukraine, covering international security and defence cooperation of Ukraine together with military aid and the phenomenon of multinational military units. Previously he was a Journalist with Ukraine’s 24 Channel. Yehor Brailian is an international journalist with an academic background in modern and contemporary world history, specialising in colonialism and British history. Yehor graduated from the Faculty of History, at the National Taras Shevchenko University, Kyiv, where he defended a thesis in 2021 on the colonial and postcolonial policy of Great Britain in the Caribbean (1930s – 1983).
