The Mecosta Environmental and Security Alliance is the official non-profit organization dedicated to protecting Mecosta County, our neighboring communities, and West-Central Michigan from both the environmental and national security threats posed by the proposed Gotion Gigafactory in Green Charter Township, MI. Mecosta County Michigan has been selected as the site for a electric vehicle battery plant. It is farm land in rural Michigan, far away from industrial development centers such as Grand Rapids and Detroit. But that is not the only source of controversy - the manufacturing plant will be owned and operated by Gotion, a Communist Chinese company. Security concerns aside, the environmental hazards of this plant have been at the forefront of the residents of Mecosta who oppose the project. In addition, Mecosta County residents have been ignored by their representatives.
