Cannings Falls Waterfall: Exploring Ontario’s Waterfalls Episode #12

Cannings Falls is located at the head of Hockley Valley, north of Orangeville Ontario. This is one of the wildest and most pristine waterfall along the Niagara Escarpment. It is also one of the harder to visit, as there are no trails, and the gorge is very steep with lots of dead fall and loose rock.

The falls lies just outside of the current boundaries of the Hockley Valley Provincial Nature Preserve, but it does lie on lands the park is hoping to acquire.

The falls consists of two drops, each around 10-15 feet high. Further upstream the smaller but equally scenic Scott Falls can be found, but it is on private property, as is Cannings Falls

Please Note that Cannings Falls is now closed to the public and on private property.
