Triggering, it is a defense mechanism, brought about when we are faced with defending ourselves before a narcissist.

The triggered effect is the means by which a narcissist pushes you to your limits.

We become triggered as a coping mechanism to deal with the trauma bond, the gaslighting and manipulations as we feel vilified and yet justified in our response.

Triggering, is our way out and it often feels like it is our last resort as we have no choice but to rage against the machinations of the toxic individual who methodically plans out our reactive ways just so that they can have their way; control over our emotions.

Triggering is a signals as much as it is a response and if we are listening, we will see to whom the triggering is really meant for. Do we trigger for the narcissist? Oh yes, but maybe there are times when our response to the narcissist is meant to get our attention from someone who lingers within and needs us to start paying attention.
