Almost a third of NHS female surgical staff have been sexually assaulted in the last five years, a new survey published in the British Journal of Surgery has revealed. Assaults ranged from genitals or breasts being touched to rape.

Retired Consultant Surgeon Dr Liz O'Riordan talks about her experience as a trainee and says she was shocked "it's still happening today", after experiencing repeated harassment during her training.
