On September 1, 2023, parent Katie Gates provided an impressive 20-minute presentation to the New Hanover County Schools (NHCS) Board on why the use of Ibram X. Kendi's book 'Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You' should not be used in high school AP English Language and Composition courses.
