The Three Crosses of Calvary

Preacher Peter Gregoric tells of the cross of Christ, and the two thieves either side - one man condemned, and the other man converted. A communion message that directs our thoughts to Calvary and the wonder of the saving work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The three crosses of Calvary.

THE FIRST CROSS is the Cross of Christ – this Man died FOR SIN.

Crucifixion was a very cruel way to die – our Lord went through immense pain and shame. It was a painful, drawn-out death.

The people mocked him, the chief priests, the religious leaders, they were all mocking him. Matthew 27:44 tells how the thieves also which were crucified with him mocked him.

THE SECOND CROSS.

One of the men died mocking him. This man, on the second cross, died IN his sin, in condemnation. The Word says that the wrath of God abideth on him - on people who don't believe on Christ.

In John 8:24 Jesus said, I said therefore unto you that you shall die in your sins for if you believe not that I am he.

THE THIRD CROSS.

The man on the third cross found conversion. This man died WITHOUT sin.

This man looked to Christ. He called upon the Lord, and he was saved.

Luke 23:42-43 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. 43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

What side of the Cross are you on?

Just like the thief on the cross we can be saved - just by looking to Christ and believing on him.
