It is interesting to note that Maui Police Chief John Pelletier was the incident commander in the aftermath of the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history, which allegedly was also the subject of a massive cover-up. Pelletier was named chief of the the Maui Police Department in 2021 after more than two decades working in Las Vegas.
