An action packed Macbeth opens in Delaware Park
It's the second production of the season for Shakespeare in Delaware Park. The play is Macbeth and director Saul Elkin has provided a few new twists. He says "We've set it in a mythical Scotland maybe, and the witches have an unexpected look." Saul says that thanks to the husband and wife team of Steve and Terry Vaughn, the witches have some slick dance moves and the show opens with the largest battle ever staged at Shakespeare in Delaware Park. Since the actors use real swords and knives on stage, Steve says the most important part of his job as fight director was to make sure no one got hurt, adding "we only needed one band-aid." Celebrating it's 42nd season of providing free theatre in Western New York, Macbeth runs every night but Mondays through August 20th. More information can be found at their website.
