AZ to IL
When we decided to go off-grid we didn't plan on doing YouTube. We took lots of pictures along the way but not many videos. I eventually decided that I wanted to keep track of our journey so I started this YouTube channel. In order to tell how our story starts, I wanted to go back and share the part leading up to our off-grid adventure. This video is a photo collage that is the introduction of selling our house in Phoenix AZ and moving to Illinois for a few years. We spent some time visiting my side of the family and introducing our kids to all their cousins. We also took the kids to visit my husband Sean's side of the family and meeting their cousins there as well. We were setting up our plans to go off-grid and did a lot of research and learning. The next video will show where we bought land, the RV we bought to live in until we build a house, and how we live off-grid. We live completely off-grid using solar power for our electricity needs.
We have a dual fuel generator as back up but rarely need to use it.
We plan to utilize rain catchment in the future but for now we haul water using an IBC tote on a trailer that we fill at a town nearby that cost about $30/month.
Our building plans are on hold at the moment as we consider moving to Arkansas!
We need to sell our 10 acres in AZ first then find our new paradise in AR!
